In March 2022, the electronic Tax Refund System (eTRS) was introduced. This technology makes tax-free shopping in participating stores as easy and hassle-free as possible.
The stores must register as part of the onboarding process, and then training sessions are held. The primary focus is on eTRS awareness, and then it moves on to system technicalities. The eTRS is an easy-to-use system that was created to facilitate transactions for shop users in a seamless manner.
Additionally, operators and shop users receive ongoing assistance and support for using the MCCI Shop portal properly. We also provide the team with on-the-spot training as part of our outreach program.
Expanding the Tax Free Community
Increasing the number of Operators and Tax Free Shopping locations is the first step towards growing the Tax Free community.
We create outreach activities that are implemented in shopping centres, hotels, and other public spaces with the goal of growing the Tax Free community.
New shops must register through a contractual process that involves ongoing follow-ups with the Operators and the retrieval of trustworthy documentation. Additionally, registering with the mcci.oxo.mu network offers Operators a fantastic chance to increase their visibility.
As a result of more stores participating in the Tax Free system, there are also more transactions for the Operators.
