Behind the success of the TFS network is a dedicated team that works every day to strengthen the partnership between MCCI and participating operators. Through continuous engagement, training, and technical support, our Outreach team ensures that every retailer — from small boutique to large mall outlet — can deliver a seamless and professional tax free experience to their customers.
Over the past year, our team has been actively engaged in onboarding new operators, helping them navigate the registration process and guiding them through the requirements of the Tax Refund system. Each onboarding session is an opportunity to share best practices, address operational challenges, and ensure consistency in how the tax free service is offered across all outlets. Beyond onboarding, our outreach efforts have expanded to include hands-on training for retail teams. These sessions cover everything from refund processing and compliance to airport delivery coordination and app integration — key areas that improve efficiency and enhance the traveller’s shopping journey.
Supporting digital transformation
As more retailers adopt the MCCI Tax Refund App and integrate with the digital ecosystem, our team has also been providing tailored support to assist with this transition. The shift toward a more digital and paperless tax refund process marks a major step forward in improving data accuracy, reducing waiting time, and delivering real-time visibility to both operators and travellers.
In 2025, the team successfully onboarded 85 new outlets, supported the digital migration of 92 retailers, and conducted 53 training sessions across the island.
